Asset Mapping

Asset Mapping

Asset Mapping is a comprehensive data collection service for signage. Existing and future signage opportunities are identified, located and their details recorded in a database for use as a management resource or tool.

Collected data is downloaded from handheld GPS units, then spatially verified and collated against photographs taken. A searchable database is compiled, customised and formatted according to a client’s management needs and capabilities. Asset data for signage is typically developed as a GIS database or Google Earth file for integration with an asset management system.

Asset Mapping provides businesses and organisations with the ability to geographically review a comprehensive range of information, contained in a searchable and updateable database, relating to signage opportunities across their infrastructure or property network. Database information typically includes:

N

Sign details such as format, type, size and height

N

Relative location and placement

N

Proximity to other signage

N

Level and range of visibility

N

Road type and traffic characteristics

N

Immediate physical context

N

Contract and lease details

N

Media value and sales status

N

Images, photographs and drawings

N

Operational requirements and maintenance schedule

Asset Mapping and database development are performed as a standalone services or as a key step in the Signage Master Planning process.
