Adam Whitford

Executive Director

Adam has fulfilled a number of leadership and specialist roles in the signage and outdoor media industry on three continents since the early 1990s. After graduating with a law degree in Australia he helped establish Vertigo Asia as the one of the leading signage specialists in China, Hong Kong and India. This success led to a consultancy role with Clear Channel, one of the world’s largest outdoor advertising companies, on a major bus shelter roll-out project in Singapore. Adam is a founding member of Second Harvest.

Steve Evans

Technical Director

Steve qualified from university as a civil engineer and has a further four years experience in structural design. He has extensive public sector work experience, both in the United Kingdom and South Africa. A former field hockey Olympian for South Africa at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Steve has been an integral part of the Second Harvest team since 2006 where he deftly balances leadership roles in new business development, technical coordination and project management. Steve has been instrumental in the development of Second Harvest’s specialist tools for signage and traffic impact assessment.

Robert de Rooy

Legal Director

Rob completed his business and law degrees at Stellenbosch University in 1995 and was admitted as an attorney in 1997. He has extensive commercial and litigation experience most of which is specifically related to signage and outdoor advertising. Rob founded his own law firm in 1997 which represented various outdoor media owners, landlords, agencies and service companies. In this capacity he also represented clients in various High Court litigation matters related to the display of outdoor advertisements. Rob initially consulted with Second Harvest, for the Dubai Signage Master Plan project, to analyse and draft bylaws and assist in the development of their outdoor advertising management system. He joined Second Harvest on a full-time basis in 2011 as managing director.

Andrew Stevens

Financial Accountant

Andrew studied BRek at Stellenbosch and is a qualified chartered accountant. He completed his articles at Ernst & Young where he supervised audit teams to established corporate clients in the financial services, technology and oil & gas industries. Andrew joined Second Harvest to facilitate greater career opportunities for his naturally entrepreneurial business skills. He has extensive consulting experience working with the public sector, non-profit organisations and real estate – particularly in terms of new business development, market analysis and regulatory review. Andrew joined Second Harvest in 2010.

Henry Gould

Project Manager

Henry grew up in Canada, Lebanon and England and joined a South African start-up outdoor media company after finishing college. As the business rapidly developed Henry gained extensive experience in all aspects of outdoor media including: site development, landlord relationship management, media sales and the permitting process. He joined Second Harvest in 2008 as in-market project consultant and later project manager for long-term implementation projects for the then newly developed Hyderabad International Airport in India, and the city-wide Signage Master Plans for Dubai and Muscat in the Middle East. These were followed by a successful business skills exchange with Independent Outdoor Media in Melbourne, Australia. Henry’s focus at Second Harvest is large-scale Signage Master Plans, GIS implementation and new business development projects.
